restoration of /mail is in progress and should be completed today.
Any new messages will be merged.

Some clients, such as imap-uw and pine/alpine consider /mail to be
the same as /tmp, meaning that the spool directory is meant to be
a temporary storage area for incoming mail.  By default, these
clients want the spool file to be merged with $HOME/mbox or other
folders in your protected home directory.

You may also find your email in $HOME/mail/ or $HOME/Mail/
depending on the mail client you use and how you have folders
configured.

If you have your spool file open (/mail/$LOGNAME) your mailclient may need
to be restarted in order to load older messages.
